About Us

Toronto Brass has been an integral part of the Western Lake Macquarie community for nearly 60 years. They have a proud history of supporting local community events including Anzac Day services and enjoy being called upon to perform at festivals and openings including the recent re-opening of the heritage Rathmines Theatre. Toronto Brass also have many successes in the Open B Grade division of the NSW State and Australian National Band Championships where they regularly compete each year.

Band instrumentation is a typical brass band structure of cornets, tenor horns, baritones and euphoniums, trombones, tubas and percussion. Our members come from various backgrounds, some starting out as juniors and some beginning later in life. All have a shared passion for music and a commitment to giving back to the wonderful supportive community around us. This is evident in the formation of Catalina Brass, the junior arm of Toronto Brass where beginner musicians can learn to play, fully supported by the senior members and teachers in Toronto Brass.

Toronto Brass are proud to be an active member of the Hunter Region Band Association and host the annual Hunter Regional Solo & Party Championship in September at their band room on the shores of Lake Macquarie.

Toronto Brass perform regularly in concert including our seasonal concerts at Rathmines Theatre and local venues.
